I hope your 2018 has been off to a great start! With so much going on in the world today, news reports are reporting that stress levels are at an all time high and suicide rates have increased. Let’s face it, everyday is not a perfect day. We all may have experienced our share of ups and downs in life, but maintaining balance and keeping a positive outlook is key.
Today I want to share a few tips on maintaining balance in your life. If your life is similar to anything like mines, then you may have a million things going on, while still trying to stay focused on accomplishing your goals and dreams for 2018. I have lived in Seattle, WA for four months now and I am still learning my way around and just adjusting to my new life here in the Pacific Northwest. I am a family oriented person , so I assist with raising my eight year old nephew, and I still make frequent trips between Seattle, Atlanta for business, and Indiana to check on my parents. So yes, life for me is a bit hectic right now , but I’m still enjoying every moment of it because I have learned to maintain a healthy balance.
Check out a few of my tips below..
5 Tips On Maintaining Balance In Your Life
Everyday that you wake up, you should start your day off with prayer and/or meditation. I find this to be very instrumental in my life. I truly believe that there is a higher power and for me that is GOD. I gain all my strength and resources through him each day. We all have goals to achieve and situations/ circumstances to overcome, but praying for direction on how to achieve your goals and guidance on how to get pass those situations is key to starting off your day.
2. Stick With Your Priorities
What are your priorities in life? For me, it’s God, family, work/business, church, friends, and etc… Notice that my top three are God (first), family (second), and work (third). I try my absolute best to keep that order. My relationship with God will always be my top priority because I am nothing with out him. Coming from a close knit family, we have an unbreakable bound. We have built a foundation on love and support. There are times when work/business issues try to come before family , but I have learned to stick to my priorities. Growing and maturing in life, I just realize that family is irreplaceable and work/business is never worth putting before my family.
3. Surround Yourself With Love
Surround yourself around the people that truly love you. Whether it’s family, friends, and/or a significant other. The people that have your back in the good and bad times are the one’s who love and support you. I have had my share of hard times and spells of depression, but it was with God and having a great support system (family& friends), that has helped me. So with that being said, take time away from work and/or your business to enjoy your family and friends. Cherish every moment spent together, and surround yourself with love. It’s good for the mind, body, and soul.
4. Set Goals and Stick With Them Until They Are Achieved
We set goals to achieve them right? There’s nothing like that amazing feel of accomplishment when you achieve your goals. I’m not saying that obstacles will not get in the way, but there are times when you will have to take a break, but never quit! “The race is not given to the swift nor the strong but unto them that endure to the end…” (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Always remember to write the vision, set goals, and run your race! 2018 can be everything that you wish and dream it to be!
5. Always Be Thankful
Consistently having gratitude is a great way to keep happiness and balance in your life. We all have something to be thankful for. Life is a gift that we receive each and every day. So the next time you’re having a bad day or when things are not going in your favor, reflect on the good and remember how far you have come. We have the power to create the life that we want to live, so enjoy the journey, and enjoy your life to the fullest.
